The editorial project “Soleil Noir” is a powerful celebration of inclusion, diversity, and cultural heritage, imagined as a modern destination wedding on the Côte d’Azur. Set at Castel Bay, an exceptional wedding venue overlooking the Mediterranean, this editorial explores how contemporary weddings can honor cultural roots while embracing a bold, fashion-forward aesthetic. The vision was to show that a modern destination wedding in the South of France does not need to follow traditional codes to reflect the identity, heritage, and unique style of the couple.

Sarah, the wedding planner behind the project, explains: “When I entered the wedding industry in France, I noticed a lack of representation for Black couples. Their traditions are rarely showcased, and many feel they must look abroad to find vendors who truly understand their cultural needs. I wanted to change that by empowering the African community to celebrate their weddings in exceptional French venues on the Côte d’Azur with local talents who truly appreciate and honor the elegance of their heritage.” Blending editorial fashion, luxury destination wedding inspiration, and cultural traditions, this project reimagines what a modern wedding in the South of France can look like.
